Capacity building training courses on financing and business models within CoolHeating Horizon 2020 project took place in EPBiH

At the premises of EPBiH, Training course for local actors on financing, business models and contracts and Training course for financing bodies and investors on technologies for small modular renewable heating and cooling grids, within the CoolHeating project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, were held on May 2017

The workshops were attended by experts from district heating and renewables sector, with the aim of capacity building, as well as knowledge transfer and capacity building for different possibilities of such projects realization by the presented financial models. The economic calculation tool, developed for financial analysis of the district heating projects was presented, as well as the Guidelines on improved business models and financing schemes of small renewable heating and cooling grids. The main goal was to assist potential investors and help them to develop renewables based district heating projects. The training courses were attended by the presenters of the best practice examples from Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The financing possibilities by the grant and loan lines of the Environment protection Fond of the FBiH were presented, as well as the loan lines of the Development Bank of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Director of the KfW office in B&H Mattias Smidt-Rosen welcomed the initiative of EPBiH and all activities within this project and emphasized that the KfW bank will have special loan lines for energy efficiency projects.
