US Ambassador Maureen Cormack visited Thermal Power Plant ¨Tuzla¨

Her excellency Maureen Cormack, US Ambassador to BiH, visited Thermal Power Plant ¨Tuzla¨on July 16, 2018.where she was familiarized with Thermal Plant's business operations and preparatory acitivities for building of Unit 7 - capacity 450 MW


Together with  Bajazit Jašarević, General manager of JP Elektroprivreda BiH Sarajevo and Izet  Džananovića director of TPP  „Tuzla“,  she  visited the location for  future construction of Unit 7 and replacement Unit for Units 1,2, 3,  4, which will be Unit for production of electricity and heat energy     (coogeneration Unit )with high efficiency by using modern technologies with limited impact to the environment.

By construction of the Unit 7,  planned annual electricity production of 2.739,81 GWh and 390,9 GWh heat energy will provide supplying of  heat energy for cities Tuzla, Lukavac and Živinice.

During the visit of the location, Ambassador Maureen Cormack has been informed with actual activity for begining construction of the Unit. As per planned dynamicy, the Unit 7 should be in operation by 2023.Period  for construction is 56 months and trial operation is 6 months.

It was emphasized orientation of JP Elektroprivreda BiH for using high eco standards so that emissions of pollutant be below limited values as prescribed from Directives of European Union.

By construction of the Unit 7, Bosnia and Herzegovian will have modern operation for reliable electricity suppply for existing and future customers and increased reliablity for power system of Federation BiH  and BiH.

Ambassador M.Cormack during talks with Company's management has pointed to importance of this investment of JP Elektroprivreda BiH for power sector, contributing to stability and integrity of the energy system. She also emphasized importance of introducing highest environment standards what will contribute to better local community life quality.

The talks were also about eco projects for which financing Thermal Power Plant ¨Tuzla¨allocate multi - million funds. Direct effects from  reconstruction of combustion plant, replacement of electrofillters for reducing dust emmisions, reconstruction system for transport of combustion products, construction of system for closing backflows and other investment are significant for reducing negative impacts of Thermal Power Plant Tuzla on air, water and soil.

The data show that emissions of solid particles in air are 78 % lower comparing to 2010 and water pollution for 97 percentage less comparing to 2014.
