In the planning period, the beginning of generation from new plants from renewable energy sources (new WF and PVPP) is planned.

In the 2023-2025 period, total investments of BAM 2.06 billion are planned, which will be realised partly from loans, but mostly from own funds. The focus is on investments in new and replacement generation plants, with simultaneous investments in targeted reconstructions and revitalisations, and the introduction of environmentally acceptable technologies into the existing generation plants. The capital projects ofthe highest priority include: Unit 7 in TPP Tuzla, HPP Janjići,  WF Vlašić, and several PVPPs. The new power plant that should be completed and put into operation before the end of the planning period is the Vlašić power plant. In order to increase the share of electricity generation from renewable sources, which is one of the strategic objectives of JP Elektroprivreda BiH, the focus is on building new plants from renewable energy sources. The plan envisages significant investments of own and loan funds in the development and implementation of these projects, and the next three-year period should be marked by the construction of several larger PVPPs in different prospective locations.

In the three-year period, BAM 91.7 million is planned for investment in the mine recapitalisation under the decisions already made, in accordance with the available funds, in order to ensure stable and sustainable coal production in the volume required for the planned operation of thermal power plants to meet the needs according to the electricity balance. Larger coal purchases are planned compared to the estimated realisation for 2022.

In accordance with the applicable acts regulating the electricity sector in FBiH, possible establishment of the Distribution System Operator (DSO) as a separate legal entity is planned in the planning period, which would be founded by separating the distribution activity from JP Elektroprivreda BiH. As a new company, DSO would become one of the subsidiaries in 100% ownership of JP Elektroprivreda BiH.

The total planned income of JP Elektroprivreda BiH for 2023 is BAM 1.44 billion, and profit before tax is BAM 115.87 million.
