As part of the preparation of the Environmental and Social Impact Study of the "Bitovnja" Wind Power Plant, May 16, 2023, a workshop with the local population was held in the MZ Bradina.

The workshop was organized by company Oikon d.o.o. The Institute for Applied Ecology from Zagreb which is engaged as a consultant and JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. - Sarajevo, as an investor. The aim of the workshop was to introduce the project of the VE "Bitovnja" to a local population, as well as to gather the opinions of the residents of MZ Bradina, representatives of mountaineering, hunting and other societies that use the planned project area.

Prof. dr. Mustafa Musić, assistant to the general director for development, informed the attendees that the investment and technical documentation was being prepared and presented the construction plan for the VE "Bitovinja". He said that it is a large project with a power of up to 90 megawatts, worth about 200 million KM, which will be completely located in the area of the town of Konjic.

During the implementation of the project, minimal encroachments on the space for the needs of transport and installation of wind turbines are planned, which relate to the widening of the road to the project area and the construction of a transmission line for grid connection of VE "Bitovnja". The local road infrastructure will be arranged and improved. After the construction of the VE "Bitovnja", everything will be returned to the previous state, and special attention will be paid to the cranberry and blueberry plantations, it was pointed out during the workshop.

The benefits of the construction of the VE "Bitovnja" for the local community are multiple. During the construction, the engagement of local companies that have the capacity to work on the project is expected, as well as employment of the local population when the VE "Bitovnja" is built. The city of Konjic will benefit from the concession after construction.

After getting all the answers to the questions, the locals expressed their support for the construction project of VE "Bitovnja".
